Derek Allan ChPP, Global Projects Principal Technical Expert - Shell 

Derek is an award-winning Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) who has enjoyed over 30 years in the Project Management profession. He works for Shell as a Consultant in their Global Support Organisation as the Projects Principal Technical Expert. His second vocation, now in its 15th year, is lecturing on a Master’s Degree in Project Management program at Aberdeen University. 

His career has taken him on a journey from the industrial heartland of Grangemouth in Scotland to Aberdeen, Houston, Norwich, the Netherlands, London, Norway, Brunei, back to the Netherlands and finally back to Aberdeen. He started his project career all those years ago managing smaller modification projects and progressed to managing large Multi-Billion Pound complex opportunities before moving into his current supporting role.
