Corporate Partner Case study – Bird & Bird LLP
What value does being an APM Corporate Partner bring to your organisation? How does your project function benefit?
Being an APM Corporate Partner has assisted in the development of our project function and given them access to a broad range of resources. Through the corporate portal our teams can utilise a broad range of self-learning and development tools, including webinars with industry experts, blogs, and publications.
In addition, our Partnership Development Manager has proactively highlighted relevant opportunities to collaborate and flagged various events that may be of interest, which has been really helpful. They have also facilitated introductions to colleagues working on other initiatives that we may be able to support.
Have APM provided you with opportunities you wouldn't have had if you weren't aligned to them?
Through our corporate partnership the team has attended various events hosted by APM on a range of topics that cater for all experience levels. As well as this, we’ve been invited to share our views via numerous articles and interviews and presented with the opportunity to participate in a pilot of the refreshed qualification modules.
APM have also helpfully introduced us to contacts at AIPM, a similar organisation based in Australia. Connecting with them has benefitted us greatly and supported us in establishing a team presence in the region.
Regular calls with our Partnership Development Manager have been hugely beneficial to share insights and challenges, and to understand how other industries are benefiting from project management.
How have APM improved your project management capability?
Bird & Bird LLP follows the APM qualification path. Aligning to the framework has provided a clear career structure and progression path for the team. This has included cross training for the Process Design Team which has resulted in a broader understanding of roles, responsibilities, and challenges.
Why would you recommend that other organisations in your sector become a Corporate Partner?
Forming a corporate partnership with APM demonstrates our commitment to the profession and an investment in our people by supporting an alternative career path within the legal industry.
Being a Corporate Partner opens doors to a variety of networking events and introductions to those working in different sectors who can offer fresh perspectives on similar challenges.
