Association for Project Management (APM) is pleased to announce the launch of its 2024 trustee ballot.

APM is asking Full and Fellow members (MAPMs and FAPMs) who want to take a leading role in driving the project profession forward to nominate themselves to serve on the APM Board. This year’s ballot will see three new trustees elected.

As the chartered membership organisation for the project profession, APM is dedicated to advancing and promoting the value of project management to deliver better project outcomes for the benefit of society. APM’s Board of elected trustees serve as an essential part of developing its strategy and supporting the organisation to ensure its success.

As diversity of thought improves decision making and outcomes, APM is keen to see a mixture of characteristics and skills on the Board. Candidates from a broad range of backgrounds, sectors, experiences, stages of career, project disciplines, and employing organisations are encouraged to put themselves forward. APM needs the highest calibre candidates who share its values and can show a robust commitment to professional ethics and integrity.

Applications are welcome from those who can demonstrate the competencies needed to be a trustee and who can operate strategically at board-level. Previous experience as a trustee or non-executive director is beneficial, but not essential as training will be provided. While time commitments vary between Board members, a contribution of approximately 20 days per annum is expected. The ability to provide this time and energy is essential.

The deadline to submit nominations is at 17:00 BST on Wednesday 4 September.

Please visit the election websiteread the guidance, and make your nomination. Voting will then open at 10:00 BST on Monday 30 September. The deadline for voting will be at 12:00 BST on Friday 1 November 2024. The results will be announced at the APM Annual General Meeting on Monday 11 November.

Milla Mazilu, APM Chair, said: “Being an APM Board Trustee is an incredibly interesting role. You have the chance to contribute to the profession and the Association that we love and it’s a really rewarding opportunity. We’re a charity and your strategic input can help us meet our public benefit duties. We’re interested to hear from anyone who shares our values and can contribute.

”Please consider this opportunity, or indeed encourage other good candidates to put themselves forward.”

Hear Milla explain more about why serving on the Board is such a fantastic opportunity and the impact that making your nominations has on the future of our profession.
