Poor scope definition is recognised as one of the leading causes of project failure, resulting in cost and schedule overruns, and long term operational issues. This webinar was held on 12 October 2022.

This webinar shared the learning from Sellafield Ltd's successful deployment of PDRI in a complex and challenging regulated environment.

A key feature of the deployment is a focus on the creation of the supportive behaviors to encourage an open an honest appraisal of project maturity. This approach engenders ownership and accountability of the project team, empowering the team to effectively chart a path to success.

The topics covered included:

  • What is PDRI, it's origins and how can it make project outcomes more predictable.
  • PDRI as a tool for achieving team alignment.
  • The facilitated deployment of PDRI, benefit realisation and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Lessons learned during roll out in the Sellafield environment.
  • Project and portfolio level insight.

The speakers have very kindly allowed their presented material to be made available for viewing. The webinar recording on YouTube will be available in our APM resources area and embedded below for your reference. The slides may be provided shortly.

An excellent webinar on the CII PDRI tool. Thank you @TonyPerry for the nudge to review the recording. As a subject matter expert in Front End Planning and an accredited Facilitator for PDRI I can commend this example of a tool that helps test that the right project has been chosen and that the project is set up to be done right - and have the best chance of success. It is applicable for a wide range of industries.
