This two day virtual conference, hosted by the APM South East Branch, was aimed at students and new project managers outside of the UK. The programme shared latest methodologies and practices in project management, and offered attendees an opportunity to network with peers from a variety of geographical regions. Topics included agile project management; leadership and risk management and entrepreneurship and innovation.  This webinar was held on 15 and 16 March 2023.

Abdul Moiz

An Industrial Engineer and Project Manager by Profession and Entrepreneur by Heart. As a project manager he has worked in different sectors like education, marketing and ecommerce. Moiz started his entrepreneurial journey from 2018 and up-till now, he has founded different startups named as Tutors Gateway, Skills4u, Zumy and Waakhly.

Over the years, Moiz has won multiple recognisable awards in field of entrepreneurship and successfully completed Founder Institute Program (American business incubator, entrepreneur training and startup launch program) and incubation-acceleration program at National Incubation Centre Peshawar, Pakistan. He recently completed the 6-month Forward Program of McKinsey & Company, a global management firm.

Moiz has keen interest in strategic management, event management and business development due to his management and voluntarily work he’s currently serving voluntarily as a member with the Association for Project Management, South East Branch.

Marlo Clarke

Marlo is the Education Coordinator at the Association for Project Management. Originally from Barbados, Marlo worked as a Programme Manager in the USA for seven years, before moving to the UK in April 2022. He enjoys Public Speaking and has presented two TEDx talks in 2020.

Marlo will be speaking on how APM can support students throughout the different stages of building a career. From the networking process, navigating the first few years of your career, and transition management through changes in job and location.

Mitang Malani

Mitang hails from India, with an experience of working in the field of entrepreneurship, management and engineering for more then eight years. He studied Civil Engineering and recently did his masters in project management from University of Portsmouth. He founded multiple startups from construction industry to design and marketing industries named as Airkol Company,Vegonut Foods, One Oil, Childbooand with all of these startups, Mitang proved his love for entrepreneurship and Project Management.

Mitang not only love entrepreneurship but his love with project management is tremendous which led him to launch different startups and projects. Due to his management skills he is currently a student member of APM. Over the years, Mitang built solid skill-set which highlights in the growth and vision mindset of Alongverse in making it as a leading platform development company in the globe.

Hina Nisar Sadouzai

Hina is a highly experienced trainer, consultant, and speaker with a focus on human capital development, leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation. She uses a solution-oriented centered approach based on logical reasoning and rationality to help trainees counter cognitive barriers to productivity in organisational development.

Currently, she serves as the CEO of Cognition Hub and as a Consultant Director for Learning and Development at LEXICON (IFA-UK). Additionally, she works as an Agri-Tourism Consultant with Agri-Tourism Corporation Pakistan, a Human Capital Management Consultant with AGHAZ PVT, a LEAD HRM Trainer/Consultant at ORG.EXC (School of Trainers), and a Business Development Consultant with SMEDA. She also works as a Business Consultant with an NPO and as a Training Content Consultant for Educational Innovation 360 USA.

Oke (Michael) Olanrewaju

Oke (Michael) is an experienced program coordinator who has worked in the non-profit organization management industry. He is skilled in negotiation, training facilitation, public speaking, and program management.

Oke is currently pursuing an MSc in project management at the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. He previously worked as a Program Officer at Women At Risk International Foundation (WARIF), a full-time position where he likely coordinated various programs and initiatives for the organisation.

With a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit sector, Oke has developed strong skills in negotiating, facilitating training, and public speaking. These skills are essential in program management and help him to effectively coordinate and execute programs for the organisations he works for.

Thomas Walenta

Thomas works on projects and programs from 1974 and selected project management as his sole career profession in 1988.

Currently, he is a Coach and Mentor for Project Management Professionals and where he gained experience with setting up complex programs, running PMOs and turning around troubled projects for IBM clients in diverse industries and geographies. In parallel to his work he acts as a project management volunteer since 1998, as PMI Chapter President, PMI Board Director and received the PMI Fellow award in 2012. He is a frequent speaker at global conferences and published in several media. In 2017, he received a diploma qualification as a non-executive director from IoD, UK, which complements his five years as director on PMI’s global Board.
